Open Call for Spectra 2025

Spectra, Scotland’s Festival of Light, is looking for artists, producers and creatives to submit work for consideration for the 2025 event to be held in Aberdeen city centre.

This open call is available to any artist working with light and can include projection, large-scale installations, interactive pieces, street activation, performance, video and other mediums suitable for a large light festival. Work should be suitable for display in the public realm/ outdoors with full technical specifications available including wind loading, energy requirements, weight and risk assessment.

Artists are required to present approximate costings and fee for delivery and display of the work in Aberdeen for up to 5 days plus build and derig time. Total costs should not exceed £50,000 per artwork.

New commissions may be considered but a clear timescale for production should be provided and work must be in keeping with previous festivals.

Artists and work will need to be available in February 2025 for display in Aberdeen city centre.

All submissions should include artist CV, full proposal of work including tech spec, examples of previous work, references and any other relevant information.

Deadline for submission is 9am Monday 26th August 2024
